Mercury beat Dream for 24th win
Aug 6, 2014 - 4:50 AM Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Candice Dupree had 16 points and the Phoenix Mercury recorded their franchise-best 24th win with a 75-67 victory over the Atlanta Dream.Brittney Griner added 14 points, nine rebounds and nine blocks for the Mercury (24-4), who have won 13 in a row at home. Diana Taurasi and Penny Taylor tallied 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Angel McCoughtry ended with 19 points for the Dream (17-11), who have lost two straight. Shoni Schimmel and Tiffany Hayes had 13 and 12 points, respectively.
The Mercury held a 41-29 lead at the half, but the Dream dominated the third quarter to grab a 51-47 edge.
Phoenix started the fourth on an 11-3 run to go back in front. They led the rest of the way and closed the game on a 10-4 spurt.
