Lynx use 19-point run to shut down Sky 84-66
Jul 18, 2015 - 2:10 AM MINNEAPOLIS (AP) Maya Moore matched her season high with 29 points and the Minnesota Lynx beat the Chicago Sky 84-66 on Friday night.Minnesota (11-3) won its third in a row and fourth straight at home, and snapped Chicago's four-game winning streak.
Anna Cruz added 16 points, Asjha Jones had 12 points and 10 rebounds and Lindsay Whalen finished with 10 points for the Lynx. Jessica Breland paced Chicago with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
The Sky (9-6) used a six-point spurt early in the third quarter to take a three-point lead. Minnesota coach Cheryl Reeve then called timeout and the Lynx responded after the break, scoring the next 19 points - including 3-pointers by Tricia Liston and Damiris Dantas - to go up 61-46.
Lynx guard Monica Wright will be out indefinitely after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on her right knee Thursday.
The game was knotted at 34 at the half.
