Holdsclaw scores 28 as Dream beat Lynx
Jul 15, 2009 - 8:03 PM By NOMAAN MERCHANT Associated Press WriterMINNEAPOLIS(AP) -- Chamique Holdsclaw tied her season high with 28 points and Izi Castro Marques added 20 as the Atlanta Dream beat the Minnesota Lynx 91-77 on Wednesday for just their second road win of the season.
Atlanta started the game with a 13-2 run, taking an early first-quarter lead that it never relinquished. The Lynx got to within one point with six minutes left in the fourth quarter but could not get the go-ahead bucket.
The Dream (7-8) shot a sizzling 53 percent from the field and 78 percent from 3-point range.
Nicky Anosike scored 22 and Charde Houston scored 15 for the Lynx (9-6).
