Mercury hand Silver Stars 1st loss, 105-98
Jun 22, 2011 - 2:41 AM San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) - Penny Taylor scored 30 points and the Phoenix Mercury shot better than 50 percent Tuesday night to hand San Antonio its first loss of the season, 105-98.Candice Dupree added 20 points and 13 rebounds, while Kara Braxton scored 15 and Temeka Johnson had 14 in the win.
The Mercury have won two games in a row since starting the season 0-3. They were able to overcome a 2-for-13 shooting performance from Diana Taurasi, who scored just seven points.
Becky Hammon scored 28 points and Danielle Adams chipped in 22 off the bench for San Antonio, which fell to 4-1.
