Hammon nets 33 as Silver Stars defeat Mercury
Jul 28, 2011 - 9:23 PM San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) - Becky Hammon scored a game-high 33 points and added seven assists as the San Antonio Silver Stars earned a 102-91 victory over the Phoenix Mercury.Jia Perkins added 14 from the bench and Scholanda Robinson and Danielle Robinson each scored 11 as San Antonio won for the fourth time in five games.
Diana Taurasi paced the Mercury with 27 points and Candice Dupree added a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds in Phoenix's third straight loss.
With the win, San Antonio pulled within a half-game of Minnesota for first place in the Western Conference. Phoenix now sits two-games back in the West.
