Lynx down Shock, record skid continues

Aug 24, 2011 - 2:35 AM Tulsa, OK (Sports Network) - Taj McWilliams-Franklin scored a game-high 18 points and Lindsay Whalen added 14 points to lead the Minnesota Lynx to a 78-72 win over the still-sliding Tulsa Shock at the BOK Center.

McWilliams-Franklin and Whalen both had a team-high four assists, while Monica Wright contributed 13 points in 18 minutes off the bench for the Lynx, who improved to 21-6.

Amber Holt scored 18 points for the Shock, who dropped to 1-24 and added another loss to their record skid, which now stands at 19 consecutive games.

Tiffany Jackson added 13 points, and Sheryl Swoops and Ivory Latta scored 10 points apiece in the loss.

The Shock's only lead was a 6-4 advantage early in the opening quarter. They trailed the remainder of the game but made it close late.

Holt sank a three-pointer with 19.8 seconds remaining to pull Tulsa within 75-72, but McWilliams-Franklin and Wright sank key free throws to seal the win for Minnesota.
