White scores 20 points as Fever remains undefeated
Jun 4, 2007 - 12:54 AM INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) -- Tan White scored 20 points as the Indiana Fever remained unbeaten this season with a 70-66 victory over the Washington Mystics.White scored 16 of her 20 points in the second quarter, which is the fourth highest total for one quarter in WNBA history. Phoenix guard Diana Taurasi holds the record with 22 points.
Indiana set a record by not scoring a field goal for the first 13:32 of the game. Chicago did not relinquish a basket until Tully Bevilaqua made a layup with 6:28 remaining in the second quarter.
Tamika Catchings scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Fever, who shot 31-of-36 from the free throw line, including 18-of-18 in the first half.
Tamara James had 17 points and Alana Beard added 13 and five steals for the Mystic, who have lost all six of their games this season.
