Catchings leads Fever past Mystics
Jun 9, 2007 - 1:20 AM WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- Tamika Catchings scored 24 points and Anna DeForge added 13 as the Indiana Fever beat the Washington Mystics, 74-69, on Friday.Alana Beard had 23 points to lead the Mystics, who remained winless at 0-7 this season.
The Fever outscored the Mystics, 20-8, in the first quarter and never lost the lead en route to improving to 6-1.
In addition to leading the Fever in scoring, Catchings was a force inside as she pulled down a dozen rebounds. Tamika Whitmore also reached double digits in scoring for Indiana with a 10-point game.
Washington's Nakia Sanford scored 13 points and Tamara Jones added 10.
