Dupree rebounds to help Sky defeat Silver Stars
Jun 10, 2007 - 2:45 AM SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- Candice Dupree showed she is a better player than her last effort.Dupree scored 22 points and Chasity Melvin added 17 and 12 rebounds as the Chicago Sky posted a 70-60 victory over the San Antonio Silver Stars on Saturday.
Stacey Dales and reserve Jia Perkins each scored 10 points for Chicago (4-4), which has won three of four and is one victory short of matching its entire win total from last year's inaugural season.
Dupree, who had a season-low six points in an 80-66 loss at Phoenix on Thursday, responded by connecting on 7-of-12 shots from the floor to go along with eight rebounds.
The Sky shot 43 percent (24-of-56) while holding the Silver Stars to 33 percent (24-of-72).
Becky Hammon scored 20 points and Sophia Young added 15 and seven boards for San Antonio (4-4), which has lost two straight.
