San Antonio overcomes second-half rally to win in overtime
Jun 17, 2012 - 2:53 AM San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) - Sophia Young and Becky Hammon both scored 24 points in the Silver Stars' 98-85 overtime win over the Los Angeles Sparks.San Antonio had four players in double figures. In addition to Young and Hammon, Danielle Adams netted 18 points and Jia Perkins added 10.
The Silver Stars dominated the paint, outscoring Los Angeles 38-18 down low en route to the win.
Alana Beard had a team-high 23 points for the Sparks, who fall to 7-3 with the loss.
Candace Parker pitched in a double-double for Los Angeles, scoring 21 points and pulling down 11 rebounds.
San Antonio held a nine-point lead at half and a four-point lead heading to the fourth quarter, but the Sparks were able to force overtime. In the extra session, the Silver Stars rolled, outscoring Los Angeles 15-2.
