Hammon lifts Silver Stars over Liberty

Jun 17, 2007 - 2:34 AM SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- Becky Hammon had 22 points to lead the San Antonio Silver Stars to a 79-71 victory over the New York Liberty on Saturday.

Hammon, who played for New York for seven seasons, also had seven assists for San Antonio.

Sophia Young had 21 points on 6-of-12 shooting for the Silver Stars, who snapped a two-game losing skid.

Erin Buescher added 16 points and seven rebounds for San Antonio, which took a 42-31 lead into the intermission.

Shamika Christon and Loree Moore each scored 15 points for New York, which has lost four of its last five contests.
