Shock use big 3rd quarter to top Dream

Aug 29, 2012 - 1:41 AM Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Roneeka Hodges poured in a game-high 20 points, including four 3-pointers, as the Tulsa Shock used a big third quarter to come away with an 84-80 win over the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday.

Temeka Johnson scored 17 points and handed out six assists, Ivory Latta added 14 points off the bench and Glory Johnson donated 10 points and eight rebounds for the Shock, who had lost six of their last seven games coming in.

Erika de Souza led six Dream players in double-figures with 16 points and nine rebounds, while Sancho Lyttle added 14 points and nine boards for the Dream, who have dropped three of their last five contests.

The Dream got off to a fast start, leading by nine after one quarter and seven at halftime, but it all unravled in the third quarter.

Tulsa opened the third frame with an 11-4 run to tie the game at 55-55, and ended the quarter outscoring the Dream, 23-11, to take a 67-62 lead heading into the fourth.

Tulsa held a 79-70 lead with just under 4 1/2 minutes left before Atlanta reeled off seven straight points to cut the deficit to two.

Cathrine Kraayeveld nailed a 3-pointer with 12.6 seconds left to make it an 81-80 Tulsa lead, but the Shock held on for just their fifth victory of the season.
