Moore leads way as Lynx put out Sparks
Sep 5, 2012 - 2:49 AM Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Maya Moore put home 23 points and pulled down nine rebounds as the Minnesota Lynx took down the Los Angeles Sparks, 88-77, at Target Center on Tuesday.Seimone Augustus also scored 23 points and Lindsay Whalen netted 12 points for the league-leading Lynx, who have won nine in a row. Candice Wiggins dropped 10 points in limited minutes off the bench in the victory.
Alana Beard led the Sparks with 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting and Jenna O'Hea added 15 points off the bench in Los Angeles' third consecutive defeat.
Minnesota led 41-37 at halftime, and won the third quarter, 25-18, to take a 66-55 lead heading into the fourth quarter and the Lynx never trailed the rest of the way.
The Lynx had the better of the play inside, outscoring LA in the paint, 42-38, and the defending champions netted 16 second chance points to go with 29 points off 20 Los Angeles turnovers.
