Sep 13, 2012 - 2:03 AM Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - Cappie Pondexter scored 22 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out six assists in the New York Liberty's 75-62 win over the Washington Mystics.Nicole Powell netted 15 points and Kia Vaughn added 10 off the bench for the Liberty, who moved a half-game ahead of the Chicago Sky for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Monique Currie tallied 24 points for Washington, which has lost nine straight games and fell to 1-15 on the road this season.
The Liberty shot 50.9 percent (29-of-57) from the floor, while limiting the Mystics to 38.3 percent (23-of-60) from the field.
The Atlanta Dream could've clinched a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with a New York loss.
