Hammon, Silver Stars rip Storm
Sep 15, 2012 - 2:27 AM San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) - Becky Hammon's 25 points led all scorers and paced San Antonio to its 90-66 victory over Seattle on Friday.Sophia Young totaled 19 points and nine rebounds, while Shameka Christon added 13 points for the Silver Stars, who have won two in a row and sit comfortably in third place in the Western Conference.
Ann Wauters and Tina Thompson struck for 12 points apiece for the Storm, who received 11 points, five boards and four assists from Svetlana Abrosimova in defeat.
San Antonio erased a five-point deficit after one quarter and led 38-36 at the break. That edge increased by nine after three quarters and ballooned in the fourth thanks to a 22-9 edge in points by the hosts.
