Sparks rout Mercury, clinch West's No. 2 seed
Sep 19, 2012 - 4:35 AM Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Candace Parker filled the box score with 26 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and four blocks, as the Los Angeles Sparks swept the five-game season series against the Phoenix Mercury with a 101-76 victory on Tuesday.Alana Beard chipped in 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting for the Sparks, who have won nine straight at home and clinched the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference standings.
It was the third time this season the Sparks eclipsed the 100-point plateau.
DeWanna Bonner paced the Mercury with 23 points, while Krystal Thomas added 14 points and 11 boards in the loss, Phoenix's fifth in a row.
The Mercury never led and were outscored in all four quarters.
