Vandersloot leads Sky over Mystics
Sep 23, 2012 - 3:31 AM Rosemont, IL (Sports Network) - Courtney Vandersloot scored a game-high 20 points, lifting the Chicago Sky to a 77-58 victory over the Washington Mystics in the season finale for both teams on Saturday at Allstate Arena.Epiphanny Prince donated 12 points, while Ticha Penicheiro added two assists in her final WNBA game. The 15-year veteran announced her retirement this week and is the league's all-time assists leader with 2,599.
Chicago was eliminated from postseason contention after Thursday's loss at the hands of Atlanta.
Monique Curry led the way for Washington with 15 points, as the Mystics finished the season on a franchise-record 13-game losing skid.
Washington held a 28-23 lead at the break, but were outscored 26-15 in the third frame.
Chicago led by as many as 22 in the fourth en route to the double-digit victory.
