Hammon guides Silver Stars past Liberty

Jun 23, 2007 - 1:50 AM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Becky Hammon enjoys seeing her former teammates.

Hammon scored 19 points to lead the San Antonio Silver Stars to a 70-63 victory over the New York Liberty.

The Silver Stars extended their winning streak to three games, which included a 79-71 victory over the Liberty on Saturday in San Antonio.

Hammon, who played for eight seasons with New York before being traded in the offseason, finished 9-of-16 from the field. She had 22 points in Saturday's game.

Vickie Johnson, another former Liberty player, added 14 for the Silver Stars (7-4), who trailed by as many as 16 points in the first half and 10 points midway through the third quarter.

Ashley Battle scored 17 points and rookie Jessica Davenport added 11 for New York (7-5), which was dominated on the backboards, 38-26.
