Mercury down Fever for first win of season
Jun 8, 2013 - 9:55 PM Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Diana Taurasi had 26 points and five assists as the Phoenix Mercury picked up their first win of the season with an 82-67 decision over defending-champion Indiana on Saturday.The win came without star center Brittney Griner who missed the game due to a left knee sprain.
DeWanna Bonner scored 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds while Lynetta Kizer and Candice Dupree added 10 points apiece for the Mercury.
Shavonte Zellous scored a season-high 29 points and Tamika Catchings added 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Fever, who shot just 37 percent from the field but went 8-for-15 from beyond the arc in defeat.
