Langhorne, Mystics send Fever to fifth straight loss
Jun 16, 2013 - 11:09 PM Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Crystal Langhorne hit the go-ahead free throws and recorded a big block in the closing seconds to lift the Washington Mystics over the struggling Indiana Fever, 64-60, at Verizon Center.Langhorne finished with 16 points and nine rebounds and Ivory Latta added 17 points for the Mystics, who have won three straight for the first time since the 2010 campaign.
Shavonte Zellous and Tamika Catchings netted 17 and 16 points, respectively, for the defending champion Fever, losers of five in a row since winning their season opener.
The tight contest was tied, 31-31, at halftime and fittingly came down to the final minute.
Washington's Michelle Snow and Catchings exchanged baskets before Langhorne was fouled with 23.9 seconds to go. She made both free throws for a 60-58 Washington lead, blocked Karima Christmas' layup attempt at the other end and essentially sealed the win with two more from the stripe.
