Lynx breeze past Shock
Jul 14, 2013 - 2:44 AM Tulsa, OK (Sports Network) - Lindsay Whalen and Rebekkah Brunson each posted impressive double-doubles as the Minnesota Lynx handled the Tulsa Shock with an 86-75 victory on Saturday.Whalen scored 25 points to go with 11 assists and Brunson poured in 17 points while grabbing 12 boards in Minnesota's fourth straight win, three of which have come by double-digits.
Maya Moore added 22 points for the Lynx in shooting 8-of-14 from the field.
The Shock, losers of six straight, received 22 points from Riquna Williams. Nicole Powell scored 16 and Liz Cambage tallied 13 points in the setback. Tulsa shot just 39 percent from the field.
An 11-0 run for Minnesota in the first opened up an early 15-point edge for the visitors. A layup from Williams with under four minutes left in the second had the Shock within six, but a 10-2 run for the Lynx gave them a 51-37 edge at the break.
Minnesota led by double-digits the entire second half and by as many as 22 points.
