Sparks handle Mercury
Jul 15, 2013 - 12:25 AM Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - Candace Parker had 21 points, eight rebounds and five assists to lead the Los Angeles Sparks to an 88-76 victory over the Phoenix Mercury.Nneka Ogwumike added 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Sparks, who have won five in a row. Lindsey Harding added 15 points.
Diana Taurasi ended with 23 points for the Mercury, who played their second straight game without No. 1 draft pick Brittney Griner (sprained left knee). DeWanna Bonner and Candice Dupree tallied 17 and 14 points, respectively.
