Lynx cruise past Silver Stars
Jul 20, 2013 - 2:16 AM San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) - Lindsay Whalen had a game-high 21 points and seven assists to lead the Minnesota Lynx to an 87-71 win over the struggling San Antonio Silver Stars.Maya Moore contributed 14 points and Devereaux Peters chipped in 13 for the Lynx, who have won five in a row, four of them coming without three-time All- Star guard Seimone Augustus. She remains out due to a sprained left ankle.
Danielle Adams, Jia Perkins and Shenise Johnson all had 13 points for the Silver Stars, who shot just 37.9 percent from the field and suffered their fourth straight loss.
Minnesota, which shot 11-of-15 from the field and took a 26-14 lead after one quarter, never trailed. The Lynx's biggest lead came early in the fourth with a 27-point advantage.
