Mystics slip past Lynx
Aug 9, 2013 - 2:14 AM Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Ivory Latta had 24 points to help the Washington Mystics take a 79-75 victory over the Minnesota Lynx on Thursday.Monique Currie posted 20 points and eight rebounds while Matee Ajavon added 18 points and five assists for the Mystics, who snapped a four-game losing streak.
Maya Moore had 24 points and Lindsay Whalen added 19 points and five assists for the Lynx, who had a 10-game winning streak snapped. Seimone Augustus gave 18 points in the setback.
With the score tied at 75-all, Ajavon put in a layup with 21.3 seconds to go, and, after Augustus missed a jumper, Currie sealed the win with a pair of free throws with just three seconds showing on the clock.
