Lynx secure West's top seed with win in Seattle
Sep 11, 2013 - 4:14 AM Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Maya Moore scored 20 points, Lindsay Whalen chipped in 19 and the Minnesota Lynx downed the Seattle Storm, 73-60, to secure the top seed in the Western Conference for the third straight year.Minnesota led by as many as 24 in its first regular-season sweep of the Storm since 2001. The teams will also play in the first round of the playoffs, as the loss sealed Seattle's fate as the No. 4 seed in the conference.
Tanisha Wright paced the Storm with 14 points, but the club was outrebounded by a 36-20 margin and had two fastbreak points to Minnesota's 20.
The Lynx took control in the second quarter, using a late 10-0 run to build an 18-point spread. They eventually took a 40-28 cushion into the break and led by double digits the entire second half.
