Catchings, Fever hold off Liberty
Sep 14, 2013 - 1:23 AM Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Tamika Catchings poured in 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds and the Indiana Fever edged the New York Liberty, 66-63, on Friday.Briann January added 13 points and Katie Douglas added 11 for the Fever, who are tied with the Washington Mystics for the final two spots in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
DeLisha Milton-Jones scored 18 points and Toni Young added 10 for the Liberty, who fell to 11-22 this season.
The Fever trailed 60-59 with 2:48 left, but a pair of Erlana Larkins free throws, followed by a Karima Christmas trey with 1:35 left, made it a four- point game.
Milton-Jones buried a triple 20 seconds later to pull the Liberty within 64-60, but Catchings knocked down a pair from the charity stripe in the closing seconds to seal the win.
