Lynx earn rare win over Sparks
Jul 28, 2007 - 2:43 AM MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- Svetlana Abrosimova and Seimone Augustus scored 23 points each to lead the Minnesota Lynx to an 85-76 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks.The Lynx (6-20), who won for just the sixth time this season, outrebounded the Sparks 40-30 and connected on 20-of-22 attempts from the free throw line.
Minnesota built up a 14-point lead at the end of the third quarter by outscoring Los Angeles 23-14 in the period. Augustus poured in nine points in the quarter.
The Sparks (8-15) have now dropped nine of their last 10 contests to fall seven games behind Western Conference-leading San Antonio (15-8). The Lynx snapped a 10-game losing streak, winning for the first time since June 29.
Mwadi Mabika led Los Angeles with 14 points, including going 3-of-4 from the arc.
