Smith leads Shock to rout of Mystics
Jul 28, 2007 - 10:36 PM WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- Katie Smith scored 21 points to lead the Detroit Shock to a 76-64 victory over the Washington Mystics.Plenette Pierson added 18 points and Kara Braxton 15 as Detroit won for the eighth time in nine games.
Earlier in the week the Shock learned they would be without Cheryl Ford, the league's leading rebounder, for the remainder of the season due to a knee injury.

Detroit trailed after one quarter, 22-16, but held the Mystics to just six points in the second quarter in assuming a 37-28 advantage at halftime.
Washington missed 15 consecutive shots in the quarter and fell behind by as many as 24 points in the second half.
DeLisha Milton-Jones led the Mystics with 17 points and seven rebounds.
