Jul 30, 2014 - 1:39 AM New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Tina Charles had 23 points and 12 rebounds and the New York Liberty beat the Washington Mystics, 80-76, in overtime on Tuesday.

Sugar Rodgers and Plenette Pierson combined to score all nine New York points in overtime as the Liberty bounced back from a loss in Phoenix on Saturday to win for the fourth time in five games.

Anna Cruz added 13 points, Cappie Pondexter scored 11 and Rodgers finished with 10 in the victory.

Kia Vaughn had 12 points and 12 rebounds to lead Washington, which had a four- game winning streak snapped.

The Mystics overcame a 17-point deficit in the first half and a 10-point hole after three quarters to send the game to overtime on Bria Hartley's layup with 0.6 seconds left in regulation.

Their only lead of the game came after Stefanie Dolson's hook shot opened the scoring in overtime.

Earlier, Alex Montgomery swished a 60-foot shot at the first-half buzzer to give the Liberty a 43-28 lead going into the locker room.

Charles had 19 points and eight rebounds in the half and the Liberty led by as many as 17 late in the second quarter, much of that distance created by a 10-0 run led by Charles and Natasha Lacy.
