McCoughtry leads Dream 73-71 win over Mystics in finale
Sep 13, 2015 - 10:45 PM WASHINGTON (AP) Angel McCoughtry scored 24 points and the Atlanta Dream concluded their season with a 73-71 victory over Washington on Sunday, making the Mystics the fourth seed in the playoffs.Washington (18-16) will open up the postseason in New York on Friday night. The Mystics won three of four from the Liberty during the regular season.
Atlanta's Carla Cortijo scored 10 of her 13 points in the second half.
Ivory Latta led Washington with 14.
Atlanta scored just seven points in the first quarter and trailed by 16 at one point of the first half. A 15-6 run got them even late the third quarter, and they took the lead on a 3-point play by McCoughtry with 4:09 left that started a 10-4 spurt.
The Dream milked the clock in the final minute with a pair of offensive rebounds. Washington's Tayler Hill made a 3-pointer with two seconds remaining for the final score.
