Comets-Monarchs game postponed due to Hurricane Ike
Sep 11, 2008 - 7:00 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- With Hurricane Ike bearing down on the Texas coast, the WNBA has decided to step aside.The contest between the Houston Comets and Sacramento Monarchs scheduled for Friday night in Houston was postponed, the league announced on Thursday.
The contest was scheduled for 8:30 p.m. local time at Reliant Arena, about 12 hours before the storm is expected to hit the Texas city.
Tentatively, the contest is being rescheduled for September 15 at 7:30 p.m. A formal decision will take place following an assessment of the storm's outcome on the Houston area.
