Tate among three Stamps with weekly honors
Nov 13, 2012 - 7:29 PM Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Calgary Stampeders quarterback Drew Tate and teammates Keon Raymond and Jon Cornish were among those honored as the CFL's top players for the division semifinals.Tate garnered the offensive award after throwing for 363 yards with two touchdowns in Calgary's 36-30 win over Saskatchewan in the West semifinal. He threw a 68-yard TD pass to Romby Bryant in the final minute to lift the Stamps into the West final against British Columbia.
Raymond picked up the defensive honor after compiling four tackles, one sack and an interception in the Stamps' victory, while Cornish was selected as the top Canadian after running for 109 yards on 18 carries.
Toronto kick returner Chad Owens earned the special teams award. He returned a punt 59 yards for a touchdown in the Argos' 42-26 win over Edmonton in the East semifinal, adding 61 yards on three kickoff returns.
