Rangers seek fifth straight win vs. White Sox

Apr 19, 2014 - 1:38 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The last Texas starter to lose a game, Colby Lewis, gets a chance to reverse that result on Saturday night when the subsequently streaking Rangers host the Chicago White Sox in game two of a three-game series at Globe Life Park.

The Rangers have won four straight games, including a 2-0 decision in Friday's opener with the White Sox, since dropping a 7-1 verdict against Seattle on Monday in which Lewis was touched for four runs on eight hits in 5 1/3 innings.

It was his first starting assignment since 2012 after he had surgery to remove bone spurs in his right hip.

Texas pitchers have maintained a 2.00 earned run average in the four games since that loss.

Lewis has won two straight starts against Chicago while posting a 1.20 ERA in those games.

He'll be opposed by White Sox lefty Jose Quintana, who's pitched well in two straight starts.

Quintana allowed a single run in six innings of the team's 4-3 defeat of Cleveland on Sunday, a win that was preceded by seven innings of two-run ball in a 15-3 defeat of the Colorado Rockies on April 8.

In two career starts against the Rangers, Quintana has won a lone decision and posted a 3.46 ERA.

On Friday, the Rangers scored 12 runs on 18 hits to back Martin Perez's first career shutout.

Perez allowed just three hits, struck out eight and walked one for Texas.

Leonys Martin went 3-for-5 with four RBI and finished a double short of the cycle for the Rangers, who went 6-for-13 with runners in scoring position. Robinson Chirinos added a two-run homer.

Felipe Paulino (0-2) gave up 10 runs on 13 hits with three walks over 3 2/3 innings for the White Sox, who have dropped three straight.
