SAN DIEGO (Ticker) -- San Diego Padres starter Chris Young has dominated the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Young looks to continue that trend on Saturday when the Padres host the Pirates.
The 29-year-old righthander owns a 3-0 record and 1.52 ERA in four starts lifetime against the Pirates. After missing most of the season with a fractured nose and strained right forearm, Young has returned to win two of his last three starts.
Young (6-6, 4.11 ERA) pitched seven scoreless innings last Saturday, allowing two hits and four walks while striking out five en route to a 6-1 victory over the Washington Nationals.
Despite the recent success, Young hasn't earned a win at home since beating the Colorado Rockies on May 11, going 0-2 in three starts at Petco Park since.
Rookie Jimmy Barthmaier (0-1, 15.19) tries to keep Young's home losing streak intact when he counters for the Padres, who dropped the series opener, 6-3, on Friday.
Barthmaier surrendered two runs and five hits in three innings during his first start in the majors last Saturday. The 24-year-old righthander walked two and struck out two but did not factor in the decision as Pittsburgh dropped a 6-4 decision to the Houston Astros.
