TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) -- Tyler Kennedy scored a power-play goal in the third period and Alex Goligoski tallied a pair of assists to lead the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 3-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday.
Max Talbot and Kris Letang also scored goals for Pittsburgh, which suffered a 5-4 shootout loss to Tampa Bay on Saturday.
Penguins goaltender John Curry, who came on midway through the second period for Dany Sabourin, stopped all 15 shots he faced.
Two nights after tallying a goal in the bonus format, first overall pick Steven Stamkos registered three shots on goal but was held off the score sheet in his first game on home ice.
Jussi Jokinen and Michel Ouellet scored goals for the Lightning.
Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay both open the regular season overseas on October 4. The Penguins take on the Ottawa Senators in Sweden, while the Lightning face the New York Rangers in the Czech Republic.
