Prentiss sets scoring mark, Gladiators defeat Rampage

Mar 9, 2007 - 5:09 AM GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan (Ticker) -- When Las Vegas quarterback Shaun King wanted to put points on the board, he looked for Kevin Prentiss.

King passed for 373 yards and 10 touchdowns as the Gladiators (1-1) posted a 79-69 road victory against the Grand Rapids Rampage.

Prentiss caught 13 passes for 235 yards and nine TDS, which set an AFL record, surpassing Randy Gatewood's seven receiving touchdowns for the Arizona Rattlers on April 7, 2006, against the Utah Blaze.

The Gladiators outscored the Rampage, 31-14, in the fourth quarter and went ahead for good on a three-yard touchdown pass from King to Prentiss that made it 62-55.

Quarterback Matt Sauk completed 26-of-47 passes for 360 yards and seven touchdowns for the Rampage (1-1). His favorite target was Timon Marshall, who hauled in 10 catches for 137 yards and three scores.
