Dragons notch first win with comeback over Storm
Mar 24, 2007 - 7:06 AM TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) -- Rohan Davey and Mike Horacek connected on a 38-yard touchdown with 31 seconds left as the New York Dragons erased a 14-point deficit and posted their first win with a 59-52 victory over the Tampa Bay Storm.Davey, who was a backup for the New England Patriots in 2004, rallied the Dragons (1-2) from 14 down three times as he completed 21-of-33 passes for 295 with six touchdowns and two interceptions.
Horacek was on the receiving end of two of Davey's TD passes, finishing with eight catches for 181 yards.
Tampa Bay quarterback John Kaleo threw for 273 yards and four scores but was intercepted three times.
Wideout Lawrence Samuels caught 11 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown for the Storm (0-4).
Kaleo gave the Storm a 52-38 fourth-quarter lead with a seven-yard run.
However, Davey hit Horacek for a 24-yard score, and Ja'Mar Toombs scored from one-yard out to tie the game at 52. Davey then connected with Horacek for the game-winner as the Dragons scored 21 unanswered points in the final 11 1/2 minutes.
