Dolezel lifts Desperados past Dragons
Jun 15, 2008 - 5:04 AM DALLAS (Ticker) -- Clint Dolezel threw for five touchdown passes and ran for another, guiding the Dallas Desperados to a 51-49 victory over the New York Dragons on SaturdayAndrae Thurman caught eight passes for 88 yards, including three scoring passes, for Dallas (12-3), which built a 16-point third-quarter lead and withstood a late comeback by the Dragons (8-7).
Josh Hamilton also had a 56-yard kickoff return to open the second half that boosted the Desperados' lead to 38-14.
Aaron Garcia threw four of his five scoring passes in the second half for New York, which pulled to within 44-42 before Dolezel and Thurman hooked up on their final touchdown of the game.
