Graziani, Soul survive late comeback, remain unbeaten
Apr 2, 2007 - 12:12 AM UNIONDALE, New York (Ticker) -- Tony Graziani and the Philadelphia Soul survived a late scare to remain undefeated.Graziani threw for 297 yards and six touchdowns as the Soul beat the New York Dragons, 65-60, in an Arena League contest.
Larry Brackins had eight catches for 105 yards and two scores for Philadelphia, which had three receivers catch a pair of scores.
Philadelphia survived a valiant comeback attempt by Rohan Davey and the Dragons. The Soul led by 20, but Davey, who threw three scores in a row to pull the Dragons within two with 2:12 left in the third quarter.
However, Graziani threw consecutive touchdown passes to Philadelphia for a 58-42 edge with 12:55 remaining.
Davey finished with a season-high eight touchdown passes and two interceptions, as New York was hurt by its five turnovers.
Mike Horacek finished with 11 catches for 188 yards and three scores for the Dragons, and Kevin Swayne had 10 catches for 138 yards and three touchdowns.
