Shaw's outstanding night helps Rush hold off Soul
May 1, 2007 - 5:28 AM ROSEMONT, Illinois (Ticker) -- The Chicago Fire scored three touchdowns in the final 8:22 to rally for a 54-43 victory over the Philadelphia Soul on Monday.After Justin Wood scored on an 11-yard run with 11:27 left in the game to give the Soul (4-4) a 43-34 lead, DeJuan Alfonzo scored on a two-yard run three minutes later to cut the Fire's deficit to two.
John Moyer then returned an interception for a touchdown with 3:17 left and Russell Shaw scored on a 33-yard pass from Matt D'Orazio with 32 ticks to complete the comeback.
Shaw caught 15 passes for 178 yards and three touchdowns for Chicago (7-1). D'Orazio completed 30-of-41 for 336 yards and four touchdowns.
Wood threw for 308 yards and five TDs, but he was picked off three times, including the critical four-quarter interception.
Charles Pauley caught 11 passes for 114 yards and a score and C.J. Johnson had seven receptions for 99 yards and two TDs for Philadelphia, which led, 34-20, at the half.
