Soul keeps home playoff hopes alive
Jun 22, 2007 - 8:05 AM PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- Tony Graziani threw for six touchdowns and rushed for two more as the Philadelphia Soul overcame an early deficit to earn a 63-49 victory over the Orlando Predators.If Tampa Bay wins on Saturday, the Soul would host a first-round playoff matchup with the Predators.
Orlando jumped out to a 14-0 lead on an interception return for a touchdown by Chaz Murphy and a 14-yard TD pass from Shane Gifford to T.T. Tolliver.
After trading TDs for the rest of the first and most of the second quarters, Philadelphia pulled even at 35-35 when Graziani connected with Jerrian James for a 14-yard score with two seconds remaining in the first half.
The Soul dominated the second half, outscoring the Predators 28-14 to clinch the victory.
J.J McKelvey caught seven passes for 100 yards and three TDs for Philadelphia, which evened its record at 8-8.
Stafford passed for 301 yards and five TDs for Orlando (8-8).
