Sippio leads Rush to conference finals
Jul 10, 2007 - 5:43 AM ROSEMONT, Illinois (Ticker) -- Bobby Sippio scored three touchdowns and threw for another as the Chicago Rush cruised to a 52-20 victory over the Los Angeles Avengers in an American Conference Divisional playoff game.Sippio hauled in two TD receptions, rushed for a four-yard score and tossed a TD pass to quarterback Matt D'Orazio as the Rush advanced to the conference finals for the second straight season. Sippio had seven catches for 116 yards.
After leading, 31-20, at intermission, Chicago held Los Angeles scoreless in the second half.
D'Orazio completed 14-of-20 passes for 201 yards for the Rush, who allowed just 3-of-12 conversions on third down and 2-of-7 on fourth.
Sonnie Cumbie passed for 257 yards and three touchdowns with an interception and Rob Turner caught seven passes for 101 yards and two scores for the Avengers, who were outscored, 21-0, after the break.
