Lynch's late TD run leads VooDoo past Destroyers
Mar 10, 2007 - 8:05 AM NEW ORLEANS (Ticker) -- James Lynch made the most of his limited opportunity.Lynch ran for a late touchdown and the New Orleans VooDoo held on for a 52-45 victory over the Columbus Destroyers.
Lynch got just one carry but made it count, plunging in from a yard out with 1:23 remaining in the fourth quarter to snap a 45-45 tie.
Andy Kelly completed 23-of-35 passes for 270 yards and four TDs for New Orleans (1-1). He threw two of his touchdown passes to Kenny Henderson, who had seven catches for 116 yards.
Matt Nagy was 22-of-44 for 274 yards and five TDs for Columbus (1-1). Damien Groce was Nagy's favorite target, as they hooked up seven times for 131 yards and four scores.
