Rampage scores 34 points in first to beat Kats
May 6, 2007 - 4:13 AM GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan (Ticker) -- Chad Salisbury threw three touchdown passes and Timon Marshall scored three touchdowns in a 34-point first quarter as the Grand Rapids Rampage beat the Nashville Kats, 71-55, on Saturday.Salisbury opened the game with a pair of TD passes to Jerome Riley before Marshall scored on a 57-yard kickoff return, a 20-yard pass from Salisbury and a five-yard fumble recovery as the Rampage (2-6) opened a 34-14 lead after the first period.
Salisbury completed 27-of-37 passes for 282 yards and seven TDs and one interception. Marshall caught 10 passes for 104 yards.
Jeff Smoker completed 29-of-41 passes for 407 yards and six touchdowns but was intercepted twice and sacked once for the Kats (4-5), who held a 403-303 edge in total offense.
Kenny Higgins caught 12 passes for 165 yards and three touchdowns and Cornelius Bonner added 10 for 149 yards and three scores.
