Wimprine, VooDoo hand Gladiators first loss
Mar 22, 2008 - 3:48 AM NEW ORLEANS (Ticker) -- Danny Wimprine threw four touchdowns as the New Orleans VooDoo handed the Cleveland Gladiators their first loss of the season with Friday's 63-24 convincing triumph.Wimprine completed 19-of-25 passes for 235 yards, highlighted by three first-quarter touchdowns to help New Orleans (3-1) jump out to a 21-0 lead.
James Jordan had 11 catches for 113 yards and two scores and Tyronne Jones caught six balls for 104 and a pair of TDs for the VooDoo, who kept Cleveland (3-1) out of the end zone in the first and third quarters.
Gladiators quarterback Raymond Philyaw went 15-of-29 for 146 yards with two TDs before backup Jose Davis entered the game to throw two scores and two interceptions.
Robert Redd had 13 receptions for 131 yards for Cleveland, which saw its league-leading rushing attack held to just 14 yards.
