Lulay, Lions handle Saskatchewan
Sep 24, 2011 - 11:43 PM Regina, SK (Sports Network) - Travis Lulay threw for 303 yards and two touchdowns as British Columbia dominated Saskatchewan, 42-5.Lulay went 19-for-27 through the air and Paul McCallum connected on all four field-goal attempts for British Columbia.
Arland Bruce and Geroy Simon each caught a TD for the Lions (6-6), who won their fifth straight game.
Darian Durant completed 15-of-25 passes for 188 yards, but was intercepted twice.
Etrem Hill caught five passes for 80 yards in a losing effort as Saskatchewan (4-8) had its three-game win streak snapped.
British Columbia took a 6-0 lead in the first quarter when McCallum connected on field goals of 16 and 38 yards.
Keron Williams recovered a bad snap by Saskatchewan center Marc Parenteau at the Roughriders' 22-yard line on the final play of the first quarter. Tim Brown rumbled in for a 13-yard score two plays later to give the Lions a 13-0 lead.
On BC's next possession, Lulay hit Bruce for a 100-yard touchdown pass to put the Lions ahead further.
McCallum nailed a 37-yard field goal before Ryan Phillips picked off a Durant pass and returned it for an 81-yard touchdown, putting British Columbia ahead 30-0.
Chris Milo's 29-yard field goal in the closing seconds of the half put the Roughriders on the board.
Lulay connected on a 14-yard TD pass to Simon late in the third and McCallum's 16-yard field goal near the end of the fourth made it a 42-3 game.
Saskatchewan recorded a safety late in the game to finalize the score.

Andrew Harris carried the ball eight times for 35 yards for the Lions...Bruce totaled 116 yards on two catches and Simon pulled down nine passes for 96 yards...Jason Clermont caught three passes for 49 yards for the Roughriders...Anthony Reddick recorded the second interception for British Columbia.
