Glenn, Lions down Argonauts

Aug 18, 2014 - 3:07 AM Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - Kevin Glenn threw for 208 yards and a touchdown to lead the British Columbia Lions to a 33-17 win over the Toronto Argonauts on Sunday at Rogers Centre.

Glenn completed 14-of-25 passes and did not throw a pick, while Stefan Logan carried 19 times for a season-high 145 yards and a score in the victory. Logan also caught five passes for 49 yards.

The win was BC's 500th in franchise history.

Toronto failed to win its last home game until Oct. 4 against Edmonton. The Argonauts are on the road for their next four games.

Ricky Ray went 23-of-39 passing for 181 yards and a touchdown for the Argos but was picked off twice. Terrell Sinkfield caught his first touchdown of the season.

Logan got the Lions on the board midway through the opening period with a 3- yard touchdown plunge. Tim Brown's 70-yard punt return coupled with an unnecessary roughness penalty placed BC on the 8, and Logan needed just two plays to take it in.

Paul McCallum's 30-yard field goal later in the quarter made it 10-0.

Swayze Water kicked field goals of 32, 34 and 47 yards in the second quarter. His 47-yarder beat the first-half buzzer, but McCalllum added a second kick just two minutes earlier, and the Lions owned a 13-9 halftime edge.

A single for Toronto accounted for the lone point in the third quarter, and the Argos briefly went on top on Ray's 18-yard strike to Sinkfield to open the fourth. McCallum had BC back in the lead with a pair of field goals at 12:09 and 9:30 of the fourth.

Glenn's 53-yard touchdown heave to Emmanuel Arceneaux gave the visitors some breathing room midway through the stanza. Arceneaux caught three balls for 81 yards for the game.

Jason Barnes' pick-six on Ray with less than two minutes to play sealed the game for the Lions.
