Hamilton beats Calgary in high-scoring affair
Sep 26, 2011 - 1:21 AM Hamilton, ON (Sports Network) - Kevin Glenn completed 16-of-23 passes for 276 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Hamilton Tiger-Cats to a 55-36 thrashing of the Calgary Stampeders Sunday afternoon.Marcus Thigpen caught six passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns. He also returned a missed field goal 118 yards for a score while Terry Grant hauled in three passes for 53 yards and a score for Hamilton (6-6).
"I was just happy that the coach believed in me and trusted me," Thigpen said. "I'm just excited."
Avon Cobourne rushed 15 times for 84 yards and a touchdown, while Grant ran five times for 23 yards and a touchdown.
Justin Medlock made both of his field goal tries.
Henry Burris threw for 177 yards on 13-of-23 and two touchdowns, while backup Drew Tate was 8-for-15 for 104 yards and two scores.
Jon Cornish ran nine times for 84 yards and Lamrcus Coker galloped 75 yards for a touchdown on his only rushing attempt of the game.

Calgary opened the scoring on its first possession when Burris found Bryant in the end zone for a nine-yard touchdown completion and a 7-0 lead.
The Tiger-Cats fought back and evened the score midway through the quarter as Cobourne punched the ball into the end zone from the one yard-line.
"It's embarrassing, to get off to a start like that and then lose all momentum," Burris said. "We didn't do a good job executing. We had the turnovers. We just didn't play well all-around."
Burris connected with Bryant again early in the second quarter with a 35-yard touchdown pass to give the Stampeders the lead, 14-7, but Hamilton again tied the game with a one-yard touchdown push by Quinton Porter.
On the first play of the ensuing Calgary drive, Burris was sacked and fumbled the ball, which was recovered by Hamilton at the 27 yard-line. The Tiger-Cats would capitalize on the turnover courtesy of a 34-yard field goal by Medlock to give Hamilton a three-point lead.
Hamilton gave itself some breathing room with under two minutes to go before the half when Medlock's punt was fumbled by Landan Talley and recovered by Hamilton at the Stampeders' eight yard-line. From there, Glenn found Thigpen for an eight-yard touchdown to make it 24-14 at the half.
Hamilton took the opening second half kickoff back 53 yards and Medlock connected on a 33-yard field goal to make it 27-14.
On the ensuing Calgary possession, Coker broke his 75-yard run to bring the Stampeders within six, 27-21, but Hamilton came right back with a 32- yard touchdown from Glenn to Thigpen to make it 34-21.
Late in the third, Rene Paredes missed a 48-yard field goal attempt, which was returned 118 yards for a score by Thigpen, giving Hamilton a sizable advantage, 41-21.
Glenn connected with Grant on a 31-yard strike to begin the final quarter, giving the Tiger Cats a 48-21 lead.
Midway through the fourth, Tate found Bryant with a 10-yard touchdown score, and then connected with Talley for a two-point conversion to cut the lead to 48-30.
Hamilton ballooned the lead even further with less than three minutes remaining in the game when Grant ran 15 yards for a touchdown and a 55-30 lead.
Tate connected with Rambo on a 17-yard score with under a minute remaining in the game to account for the final margin.
