Final
Tiger-Cats dominate Roughriders
Sep 14, 2014 - 9:35 PM Hamilton, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - Zach Collaros threw two touchdown passes and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats remained unbeaten at Tim Hortons Field with a 28-3 rout of the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Sunday.Collaros picked up 291 yards through the air on an efficient 29-of-36 completion rate, helping Hamilton take down the defending Grey Cup champions in a rematch of last year's final. Collaros also rushed for a team-high 47 yards on seven carries.
Luke Tasker caught both TD passes from Collaros, and Andy Fantuz made 11 catches for 111 yards.
"We were complete in all three phases of the game," said Hamilton coach Ken Austin. "After last week's game, it was great to see that from the players."
Saskatchewan's seven-game win streak came to an end after Tino Sunseri stumbled to a 9-for-21 passing afternoon for just 87 yards and an interception in his first career start. Anthony Allen gained 67 yards on the ground and made seven catches for 41 yards.
"Today was just football," said Saskatchewan coach Corey Chamblin. "(Hamilton) did a good job today. They played well. They took advantage of our weaknesses."
Hamilton took the opening kickoff and marched into field goal range, setting up Justin Medlock's 50-yard kick. Medlock added a 51-yarder on the next possession, and it was 6-0 after one period.
On the first possession of the second quarter, Terrell Sinkfield's 22-yard scurry led to Tasker's 14-yard touchdown reception that made it 13-0.
Chris Milo kicked a 10-yard field goal late in the half for the only Roughriders points.
The hosts dominated the second half. After Medlock hit the left upright on a 43-yard field goal try, the defense forced a punt and Sinkfield returned it 57 yards to the end zone. The punt return score was Hamilton's third of the season.
Hamilton iced it with Tasker's 14-yard TD grab late in the contest. Medlock added a single to account for the final spread.
