QB Ray among CFL players of the week

Oct 14, 2014 - 7:01 PM Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - Toronto Argonauts quarterback Ricky Ray was named the CFL's Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after passing for 431 yards in Friday's 34-33 win over Hamilton.

Ray completed 34 of his 46 throws with three touchdown passes, including two in the fourth quarter. He also rushed for a score in the fourth, leading the Argos back from a 30-13 deficit to earn his second weekly award this season.

Edmonton Eskimos linebacker Dexter McCoil was named Defensive Player of the Week after returning a fumble 77 yards for his third touchdown of the season in Monday's 41-9 blowout over Winnipeg.

McCoil, who earned his second weekly award, also registered a sack in the end zone for a safety.

Hamilton's Terrell Sinkfield was named Special Teams Player of the Week after amassing 210 return yards against Toronto and teammate Andy Fantuz earned Canadian Player of the Week honors after making seven catches for 77 yards and a touchdown in the loss.
